Michael Kenna
He was born in Widnes, Lancashire (England) in 1953. We have seen many of his work during the lectures in class and I really think his work is stunning.
All about the landscapes with the huge shades of greys he displays plus the so many details you can fin in most of his art.
Again, I must complain because is the third male photographer we have seen.
His contrast, his way to give movement in a fixed image and that magical halo he seem to capture in many of the landscapes is remarkable.
Some of the pictures from Australia, Morocco, Norway, Russia, China, Easter Island, France, Panama... who he uses in his webpage as album's covers have caught my eye.
Some of them instill calm and peace and some of the others reflect mistery and danger.
I have chosen one of each. One that reminds me of when I was living in Greece and I used to go to the beach to clear my mind. The other one rise all the red flags of my survival instincts in nights outside in the woods when the sun goes down and the cracking night start to takes its domain.
I have also attached the photograph of the dessert becuase its sky remind me of the sea.
